Spoon Carving Class
Class Description
Learn the traditional art of green wood spoon carving in this 1-day workshop!
"Green wood" refers primarily to wood that has been recently harvested and, therefore, has a high moisture content compared to something seasoned or dried. Green wood is generally softer and easier to shape using only hand tools - amazing! - so with only a few implements and techniques, we'll be able to transform our blocks of wood into beautiful, functional eating utensils in just a few short hours.
Over the course of our time together we'll learn everything from axe work to knife techniques, oil finishes to wood selection - and much more. While there's a lot to cover, the small class size and spacious carving process will allow a lot of room to tailor the experience to your curiosities and desires. Expect to leave full, but still hungry for more!
