This year, we had over 40 folks come out for the 3rd annual community Groundnut Gathering! Our biggest year yet included guests from out of state... and France! As now feels like tradition, we had a sheep butchering workshop with a local critter from Greenfield, and gathered around her/him (they were a hermaphodite, as fate would have it) to learn anatomy, hide tanning, butchering and of course, feasting! Folks of all ages got comfortable with tool use, and we took many wild edible, wildflower and mushroom ID walks. Wild grapes did not disappoint, rabbit and sheep skins were tanned, and we made a phenomenal batch of sassafras/chaga/black birch lacto fermented wild soda! Hope to see you all next year!
